Jonathan Davis, O.D.

Lead Optometrist

Dr. Jonathan Davis leads the team at Decatur Family Eye Care and is dedicated to providing comprehensive, personalized eye care for patients of all ages. He performs comprehensive eye health and vision exams, diagnoses and manages eye diseases and disorders, and stays current on advances in eye health through continuing education and advanced training. 

A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, Dr. Davis is trained in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology. His clinical experience allows him to recognize and manage a wide range of eye health concerns, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes-related eye disease, and hypertension-related eye changes. 

Dr. Davis’s professional interests include primary eye care, ocular disease, contact lenses, working with children, and serving patients through the Community Free Clinic. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometric Association.

In 2018, Dr. Davis purchased the practice from Dr. Terry Reynolds, who had provided eye health and vision care to the Decatur community for 39 years. Dr. Reynolds took over the practice from Dr. Mike Edwards in 1979, and Decatur Family Eye Care has remained in the same location for more than 35 years.

Dr. Davis is proud to continue that longstanding tradition of care while providing modern diagnostic technology and personalized treatment recommendations. He works alongside Dr. Riley Camp to serve patients throughout Decatur and North Alabama.

Outside the office, Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan, and their two sons, John Grady and Samuel. He is also involved in the Decatur community through the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and his church.
