Riley Camp, O.D.
Associate Optometrist
Dr. Riley Camp is a Decatur native and is proud to provide comprehensive eye care to the community he calls home. He graduated from Austin High School in 2014 before accepting a baseball scholarship to Southern Union Community College. After one year, he transferred to the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he was a three-year member of the Charger baseball program. He graduated cum laude in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
Dr. Camp earned his Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2022. During optometry school, he was
a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, the Private Practice Club, and served as a UAB School of Optometry Student Ambassador.
He received several honors during his education, including the Southern Council of Optometrists Clinical Excellence Award, the Good-Lite Award for Excellence in Pediatric Optometry, and the Vision America/Dr. Rob Nowakowski Co-Management Award.
Dr. Camp values private practice because it allows him to build lasting relationships and provide personalized, high-quality care to patients of all ages. His professional interests include primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatric eye care, dry eye management, and specialty contact lenses.
He is actively involved in organized optometry as the vice president and president-elect of the North Alabama Optometric Association. He is also a member of the Alabama Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Camp and his wife, Mary Claire, were married in 2019 and have two daughters. They live in Hartselle and are active members of First Baptist Church in Decatur. Outside the office, Dr. Camp enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, exercising, and volunteering through the Kiwanis Club of Decatur. He is grateful to work alongside Dr. Jonathan Davis in providing compassionate, comprehensive eye care to patients throughout North Alabama.
