Led by Dr. Jonathan Davis, O.D., the team at Decatur Family Eye Care provides comprehensive eye health and vision exams to patients of all ages. Dr. Jonathan Davis
Dr. Jonathan Davis leads the team at Decatur Family Eye Care.
He provides comprehensive eye health and vision exams, diagnoses eye diseases and disorders, and is also trained in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology. Dr. Davis is trained to recognize a range of health issues, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and hypertension, and works hard to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care by regularly attending continuing education seminars and advanced training courses. It is because of Dr. Davis’s dedication to continuing education that our patients receive the most modern and progressive vision care available.

Background
Dr. Jonathan Davis graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.
Special interests include primary eye care, ocular disease, contact lenses, Community Free Clinic, and working with children. Dr. Davis’s community involvement includes the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and church membership. He has a wife, Megan, and two sons, John Grady and Samuel. Dr. Davis is active in the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometric Association.
Dr. Jonathan Davis purchased the existing practice of Dr. Terry Reynolds in 2018. Dr. Reynolds took over the practice of Dr. Mike Edwards in 1979 after graduating from UAB Optometry School.
Dr. Reynolds retired from the practice in 2018 after 39 years of providing eye health and vision care to the Decatur community. The practice has remained in the same location for over 35 years.
Dr. Jessica Coggin
Dr. Jessica Coggin joined the team at Decatur Family Eye Care in June 2021. She provides comprehensive eye health and vision care for adults and children and diagnoses eye diseases and disorders.
Background
Dr. Jessica Coggin, O.D. graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she received the award for Excellence in Vision Therapy. She received her undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University.
More about Dr. Coggin
She is an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, the American Optometric Association, and the Alabama Optometric Association. Her special interests include working with children, vision therapy, and ocular disease.
Dr. Coggin and her husband, Ben Coggin, enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling. She is an active member of her church in Decatur and enjoys serving the community here.
Dr. Coggin believes in the importance of staying knowledgeable of the latest advances in ocular health and vision care. She regularly attends continuing education seminars to ensure she can provide the best care for her patients.
